Mentzendorff is a wine & spirits agency business, managing both sales distribution to all trade channels and brand marketing to the consumer and trade throughout the UK.
Mentzendorff is composed of 47 employees β with half being field-based Sales and half office-based Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Services and Finance.
We seek a Customer Services Assistant to join our busy, growing, dynamic Commercial Operations Team in our offices on Bermondsey Street near London Bridge on a part time basis (approx. 20 hours a week)
As a Customer Services Assistant, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing exceptional support and customer service to our valued customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities

Managing Customer Orders: Processing orders efficiently and accurately for our varied customer base. Youβll ensure our premium products reach customers in the best possible way while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Invoicing & Credit Management: Raising invoices and credit notes,. Ensuring all records are up-to-date and correctly handled. Your attention to detail and accuracy will ensure smooth operations.

Supporting Customer Queries: Efficiently support the customer service team by indirectly and directly handling customer inquiries by retrieving order and delivery information, ensuring clear communication for quick resolutions. You thrive in a team-focused environment, sharing responsibility and meeting deadlines.

Liaising with Warehouse & Resolving Issues: Coordinating with our warehouse team to resolve customer issues promptly. Your ability to prioritise and troubleshoot will be key to ensuring customer satisfaction.

Team Collaboration: Youβll work closely with your colleagues, demonstrating strong communication and flexibility, adapting to the demands of a busy, fast-paced team environment.
Skills and Experience

Customer Service Experience: A background in customer service preferred. Can show a willingness and enthusiasm for delivering excellent service.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the willingness to engage with customers and sales teams alike. Building lasting relationships will come naturally to you.

Problem-Solving & Multitasking: Demonstrate the ability to stay calm under pressure, think critically, and prioritise tasks effectively. Youβll be skilled at managing competing demands without compromising on quality or attention to detail.

Wine Enthusiasm (Desirable): A genuine interest in the world of wine is important. If you have a WSET qualification (Foundation level preferred but not essential), itβs a plus, but your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be just as valuable. Training will be provided.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel) is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Navision or similar software would be an advantage but is not required.

Attention to Detail: Youβll need a keen eye for detail to ensure that all transactions and orders are handled correctly, contributing to the smooth running of the business.
