About Us

Farmboy Brewing Co is a new brewery concept from the team behind Farmboy Brew Shop, Houston’s trusted homebrew supply and beer education hub. Our 10 bbl brewery will feature a full bar and cocktail program alongside a diverse tap list that blends craft innovation with approachability. We’re passionate about quality, creativity, and community — and we’re looking for a Head Brewer to lead production and help shape the identity of our beer program from the ground up.



Position: Head Brewer

Location: Houston, Texas

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Ownership



Key Responsibilities

- Lead all aspects of brewery operations — from recipe design and brewing to cellaring, packaging, and quality control.

- Develop and maintain a diverse, consistent beer portfolio that reflects the Farmboy brand: balanced, creative, and community-oriented.

- Manage brewery staff, scheduling, and production workflows.

- Ensure compliance with TABC, federal, and local regulations.

- Oversee raw material procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.

- Collaborate with ownership and marketing on product launches, events, and taproom initiatives.

- Represent the brewery at festivals, collaborations, and community events.



Qualifications

- 3+ years of professional brewing experience (Head Brewer or Lead Brewer preferred).

- Strong understanding of brewing science, quality assurance, and sensory evaluation.

- Proven ability to develop recipes and scale production.

- Familiarity with a wide range of beer styles and emerging trends.

- Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.

- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot brewing equipment.

- Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and continuous improvement.



Preferred Experience

- Start-up brewery experience or prior role in launching a new facility.

- Familiarity with cocktail or bar program collaboration.

- Experience with TTB and TABC reporting.

- Basic lab/QC experience.

Compensation & Benefits

- Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000 (commensurate with experience)
