About the role

To build new and grow existing business for Rare Champagne and Biondi Santi across the UK and Ireland, both in the premium on-trade and off-trade, through business development and relevant trade and consumer activity.

This role is based from our Head Office in Clapham, London, with significant time travelling in trade with UK Customers with occasional travel to Ireland, Champagne and Montalcino.

Key responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Work alongside Liberty Wines UK and Ireland sales teams to achieve volume and distribution targets in the premium on-trade (particularly fine-dining and high-energy accounts) and premium off-trade for Rare Champagne, Biondi Santi and, where relevant, complementary producers. This includes both winning new listings in existing Liberty Wines customers and opening new accounts
  • Create and present commercial proposals to secure new listings and increase market share
  • Increase volume in existing customers through proactive support plans (training, incentives) that deliver strong return on investment
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports as required.

Brand Engagement

  • Develop/lead partnerships, events, etc. that will build the profile and increase sales of Rare and Biondi Santi with HNWI and collectors
  • Work with the Brand Managers and Marketing Coordinators to implement the Rare Champagne and Biondi Santi brand plans to develop trade and consumer awareness and loyalty through effective trade activation and new product/vintage launches
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Rare Champagne and Biondi Santi, ensuring strong visibility and representation across target channels/regions. Represent the brand at Liberty Wines and industry events, engaging with key stakeholders to reinforce brand positioning and commercial opportunities
  • Work with the Marketing Coordinators to plan and host customer trips to Rare Champagne and Biondi Santi and to manage point of sales inventory and requests
  • Manage activity/event/sponsorship budgets in line with guidelines provided by the brand managers

About you

  • Proven success in wine or spirit sales, business development, brand management or trade marketing
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the market for luxury brands
  • Goal orientated, commercially astute, with a strong sense of initiative
  • Strong wine knowledge, particularly Champagne (WSET Level 3 or above strongly preferred)
  • A strong communicator: a clear writer, strong influencer and confident public speaker. Able to connect with a wide-range of people, particularly HNWI.
  • Fluent in English, French and/or Italian an advantage
  • Highly numerate – able to build and tailor commercial proposals and plans using Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work at pace and balance multiple priorities while retaining excellent attention to detail
