As a Barrique Fine Wines Sales Account Manager, you’ll have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of fine wines. You will manage and expand our customer base within a designated geographical area, playing a pivotal role in driving business growth and achieving both turnover and profitability goals.

About the Role

Duties & Responsibilities

- Current Accounts- Relationship Building: Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with existing clients, proactively activating customer plans to provide marketing support, training, and other initiatives that ensure retention and growth of Barrique Fine Wines' share of their business.

- Key Account Management: Serve as the primary contact for nominated accounts within your area, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of service as per agreements, and swiftly address any challenges, maintaining clear communication throughout

- Customer Visits: Regularly visit accounts to assess their needs and ensure high retention rates, maximising the account’s value through strategic pricing and volume trade-offs.

- Wine Expertise: Use your wine knowledge to expand our product portfolio listings, including introducing new products and converting categories, providing expert advice on menu development, pairing opportunities, product management, and quality.

- Tailored Services: Organise and coordinate personalised services, including training, events and tastings, engaging category experts to deliver exceptional service and support.

New Business:- Territory Growth: Lead efforts to expand our market presence within your territory. Collaborate with the Sales Director and Barrique Team to identify and pursue new business leads.

- Collaborative Approach: Share customer leads proactively with the team to maximise business impact.

- Customer Acquisition: Build relationships with potential customers, presenting compelling propositions tailored to their needs, and offer commercial deals that meet margin expectations.

General Responsibilities:

- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Barrique Fine Wines as a key contact and brand ambassador, staying ahead of trends and continuously developing your wine knowledge.

- Financial Targets and Management: Achieve and aim to exceed financial targets. Minimise outstanding invoices. Work to maximise margin performance, influencing your evaluation and bonus calculations.

- Forecasting: Provide ongoing volume forecasts to the Operations team and updates on promotional lines and list changes to ensure stock availability for key customers.

- Confident Presentation: Prepare and present proposals to both current and prospective clients.

- Competitive Advantage: Develop initiatives to enhance Barrique Fine Wines' distinct market position.

- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with all teams to enhance customer experience and internal initiatives.

- Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of commercial reporting and customer service.- Customer Focus: Passion for customer service and building connections.

- Sales Expertise: Proven selling skills with the ability to establish relationships and close deals effectively.

- Negotiation Skills: Skilled negotiator with a track record of timely deal closures.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in PC skills and use of google suite or microsoft platforms

- Self-Motivation: A proactive attitude with strong self-motivation.

- Presentation Skills: Confident and enthusiastic presenter.

- Value Addition: Ability to identify and leverage various β€˜levers’ to add value and invest in customers.

- Margin Management: Understanding of margin management principles.

- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

- Driving License: Full clean UK Driving License.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Qualifications/ Training

Good education

WSET Level 3 or equivalent qualification

Knowledge/ Experience

Minimum 2 years in a similar role in the drinks industry

In-depth industry expertise

Experience in delivering training or carrying out tastings

Ability to commute/relocate:

Our sales regions Yorkshire and North East with future plans for Manchester and the North West. 1 day a week is required in Ossett, West Yorkshire for a team briefing and preparation for the week. You must be able to commute to your designated Sales Region and to Ossett once a week. This will be discussed further with you in the interview process
