Area Sales Manager 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated sales professional to join our team. This is primarily a field-based active sales role focused on working in the Bay Area. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced self-starter with a successful track record in premium wine sales, deep relationships with key accounts, and the entrepreneurial mindset to grow the territory independently. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and grow the customer base in the Bay Area. Build and nurture client relationships with clients such as bars, restaurants, retail stores, and event venues. 
  • Maintain a strong field presence (4–5 days/week). 
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads and high-value targets. 
  • Use CRM to track account activity, manage territory, and measure performance. 
  • Work an occasional wine event / festival. 
  • Submit weekly sales recaps and provide regional market insights. 
  • Follow all state regulations and company policies. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Self-starter, self-directed, motivated, organized. 
  • Exceptional communication skills. This role is very entrepreneurial. 
  • Strong communication, negotiation skills, and a passion for wine. 
  • Preferred prior wine sales experience (candidates with an existing base of wine retail / wholesale customers will receive priority). 
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old, must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, a car, insurance, and be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 

 

Compensation 

  • This is a commission only position (1099).  Achievement of sales goals will heavily influence annual income earned. 
  • This role is best suited for someone currently working with other portfolios who wishes to supplement their income.
