We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance & Tax Associate to join the Distinguished Vineyards finance team! Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for the accurate and timely regulatory Compliance functions at DVWP as well as government & tax requirements. This role will also be responsible of preparation for new product and brand licensing, maintenance/renewals of alcohol licenses, registration and maintenance of compliance trackers. In addition to the daily tax & compliance duties, this role generates and updates compliance trackers and scorecards to help inform product launch and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) wine club releases. This role is based in Overland Park, KS and is a full-time, non-exempt position, working Monday-Friday and the incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post High School/GED education in finance, accounting or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in tax calculations and regulatory compliance
  • General understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience with retail/manufacturing
  • Excellent communicator
  • Attention to detail with superior organization and time management skills
  • Technical proficiency using MS Office Suite applications

Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of sales and use tax returns, excise tax
  • returns and miscellaneous licenses
  • Work with DTC teams on resolving quarantines
  • Maintain Ship Compliant database
  • Maintain internal systems current and organized
  • Maintain alcohol compliance at the product level

dependent on inventory (DTC & Wholesale)calculations & Tax Related APhoc & audit requests.

  • Label registrations and registrations renewals
  • License Renewals across all states/brands
  • TTB return calculations
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual tax return
  • Support all incoming state & other government ad
