We are searching for a Tasting Room associate willing to take on additional responsibilities. Possibilities include social media marketing, wine club management, or event coordination. The anticipated start date is August 1.
Bet the Farm Winery is located midway between Ithaca and Trumansburg, New York in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. Ours is a small production winery led by a woman winemaker with 20 years of experience. We grow five different varieties of red vinifera grapes and source our whites from area vineyards. Our Jacob Thomas Vineyard is certified as a New York Sustainable Vineyard. The winemaking approach is minimal intervention, guiding high quality fruit through fermentation, aging, and bottling to produce fine, balanced wines.
Candidates should meet the following Basic Requirements:
Age 21
Passion and enthusiasm for wine and food
Attention to detail
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours
Ability to lift 45 pounds
Ability to prioritize tasks as needed
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to converse with a wide range of people
Available for a minimum of 24 hours per week including weekends
Preferred Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Experience using Canva and reports from Square
Familiarity with Social Media marketing: especially Facebook and Instagram
Excellent writing skills
Professional phone skills
Responsibilities include:
Greeting and welcoming guests in a timely manner
Sharing our tasting options and wines with knowledge provided by the winemaker
Food safety knowledge and skills (portion control, safe handling of foods)
Opening and closing the register on a daily basis
Light cleaning includes daily and weekly tasks
Embracing and maintaining high standards for our guests
Occasional team meetings
Benefits:
Base salary is $20 per hour
