Two Roads Brewing is seeking a mechanically inclined Packaging Technician to join our team in Stratford, CT. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our packaging lines, including canning, bottling, variety packaging, and kegging.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong understanding of mechanical systems and a working knowledge of how to adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain packaging machinery. We're seeking an individual with a passion for quality, safety, and continuous improvement who excels in a fast-paced team environment.
Working Relationships:
This position of Packaging Technician reports directly to the Packaging Supervisor on the shift at the brewery. This person collaborates with other packaging technicians, warehouse forklift operators, quality coworkers and brewers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate packaging line equipment (canning, bottling, kegging, etc.) following SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Observe machinery and perform real-time adjustments to ensure efficiency and high product quality.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues, perform light repairs, and escalate complex issues to maintenance.
- Maintain clean and organized packaging areas and adhere to sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with packaging supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
- Communicate material needs and equipment issues clearly and promptly.
- Complete daily production logs and paperwork accurately.
- Support cross-training efforts and help out in other departments as needed.
- Safely store and log finished products in the cooler each day.
- Participate in department meetings and special company events.
- Uphold company culture and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude—understanding how machines work and how to adjust or fix them.
- Hands-on experience with equipment operation, maintenance, or repairs (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a team setting.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (e.g., noise, heat, moving machinery).
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to safety.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-ins.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a sense of humor and willingness to learn.
