Harvest Cellar Position Summary


We are seeking motivated and hardworking Seasonal Harvest Cellar Staff to support the production of high-quality wines during the busy harvest period. Under the guidance of Winemakers and the Cellar Master, you will assist with various cellar operations including crushing, pressing, fermentation, barrel aging, and general maintenance.


Harvest Cellar Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in grape receiving and processing, including crushing, pressing, and operating crush pad equipment
  • Monitor and manage fermentation tanks: pump-overs, punch-downs, temperature checks, and tank sampling
  • Perform barrel aging tasks such as filling, topping, washing, sulfuring, and inventory management
  • Maintain cellar cleanliness, safety, and equipment upkeep
  • Participate in safety trainings and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed throughout the harvest season

Harvest Cellar Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1–3 months of related experience or training preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous labor
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) are helpful
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance may be required

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, squat, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment
  • Clear vision and hearing for safe operation around machinery and vehicles

DeLoach Work Environment


  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather and temperature conditions
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, chemicals, and typical winery environment hazards
  • PPE provided for safety compliance

Schedule & Hours


  • Seasonal position with variable schedules, including weekends and potential overtime
  • Primarily day shifts with possible periodic evening work
  • No overnight travel required

Compensation


$18.00 to $23.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
