Penns Woods Winery is seeking a full time (35-40 hours a week) Tasting Room supervisor. This position entails carrying out daily winery operations, selling wines, wine club memberships, team management and advocating / telling the story of our small, family-owned winery. We strive to provide a memorable wine experience through our excellent customer service and high-quality wine. With that said, we are looking for an outgoing and eager personality who works well in a team environment. Service and event execution experience are preferred. This position requires weekend availability for both daytime and evening shifts. Shifts are Wednesday - Monday.

This position entails, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Interact with customers in a professional, yet friendly, manner.
  • Perform educational wine tastings, wine and food pairings and vineyard tours.
  • Serve wine and local packaged food items tableside and at our wine bars.
  • Educate guests on our story and our wines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional sales and customer service skills.
  • Promote and sell Wine Club Memberships.
  • Answer phones and assist with customer requests and questions.
  • Represent the winery at off-premise events as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Tasting Room, surrounding property and merchandise displays. Including, not limited to, clearing/sanitizing tables, cleaning restrooms, outdoor gardening, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc. 
  • Set up and breakdown of on-premise events (tents, tables, chairs, carrying cases of wine and coolers).
  • Supervise open and/or close.
  • Manage team members working in our Tasting Room.


Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work weekends and select holidays. 
  • Written/verbal communication skills. Must be able to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Computer proficiency required. Point of Sale and Excel knowledge preferable.
  • Outstanding customer service skills. Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of clientele. 
  • Must be a team player and maintain a positive disposition.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to think proactively, and multi-task/ follow instructions while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Wine interest is required, knowledge is preferred ( aka. We are happy to teach you all about wine, but you need to be interested in it). 
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Reliable form of transportation.
  • 18 years of age or older.


Full training will be provided along with RAMP training (Responsible Alcohol Management Program).
