Chautauqua Vineyards & Winery is seeking a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused Winery Associate to join our team. As a key part of our front-line hospitality staff, you will provide exceptional service in our tasting room and retail shop, ensuring guests have an unforgettable winery experience. You’ll assist with wine tastings, sales, product merchandising, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage guests in a professional and personable manner
- Guide guests through wine tastings, sharing knowledge about our wines, vineyards, and winemaking process
- Promote and sell wine, wine club memberships, and merchandise
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to complete transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room and retail space
- Restock wine, merchandise, and supplies as needed
- Assist with inventory management and daily sales reports
- Support winery events, private tastings, and seasonal promotions
- Comply with all alcohol service laws and winery policies
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service (wine industry experience a plus)
- Passion for wine and interest in learning about winemaking and viticulture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
