Scheid Family Wines has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Trainee to join our team in Greenfield, CA.

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Trainee will participate in a structured training program designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a Maintenance Mechanic I, over a 9–12-month period. The Maintenance Trainee will work alongside experienced maintenance professionals to learn how to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems used in Wine Production and Bottling. Upon successful program completion, the trainee may be considered for promotion to Maintenance Mechanic I.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of winery and bottling equipment.

· Support mechanics during inspections and troubleshooting.

· Learn to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment schematics.

· Help maintain work areas clean and organized.

· Perform basic repairs under supervision, including mechanical adjustments, lubrication, and parts replacement.

· Participate in safety training and follow all company safety protocols.

· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

· Shadow experienced mechanics to gain hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting and repair.

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or GED required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment

· Basic understanding of tools and mechanical systems.

· The willingness to learn welding, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

· Ability to use bare hands and power tools.

· Strong attention to detail and safety.

· Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. while working in various physical conditions.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position classification is full-time regular and will be generally be scheduled for 40 hours per week. The schedule may vary based on business needs and may require occasional overtime or weekend work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and/or keyboard. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires use of the computer and phone.
