Le Vigne Winery is hiring a positive, organized, efficient team player to join our family as a full-time, permanent Laboratory Technician. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for executing all winery laboratory analyses and providing up-to-date and accurate results for both wine and juice. The candidate should have a strong interest in learning about wine production and ideally have prior laboratory experience. Join the 2025 Central Coast Wine Competition Winery of the Year and 2025 New York International Wine Competition Paso Robles Winery of the Year, and experience harvest and beyond on a small, collaborative team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Sample and analyze wine and juice in tanks and barrels.

· Calculate and prepare bench trials for acid additions, blends, etc

· Prepare lab reagents and standardize when necessary

· Conduct in-house laboratory analysis using a variety of methods and instruments, including Admeo Y15, FSO2 via A/O, DMA and pH meter.

· Troubleshoot laboratory equipment

· Completes daily lab start-up and shut down following standard procedures and protocols

· Perform bottling QA/QC and maintain individual records for each

· Record and enter all laboratory analysis results

· Compose and enter all cellar work orders

· Perform monthly bulk wine inventory analysis and analyze data for potential issues

· Prepare and analyze vineyard samples

· Monitor the brix, temperature, aroma, and taste of every fermentation

· Assist with occasional weekend winery events as needed

· Other duties as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

· Completion of college-level chemistry. B.S. in Enology, Chemistry or related field preferred

· Familiarity with good micropipette practices

· Ability to safely handle strong acids and bases

· Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Winemaking software experience is a plus.

· Hardworking self-starter with good observational and analytical skills

· Attentive to details and able to accurately track and document data

· Ability to work longer hours and one weekend day during harvest

· Ability to work individually and as a team

· Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, climb stairs, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform work duties both indoors and out, in fluctuating temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
